OCC Changes for 2021

As of January 1, 2021, the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM) has replaced the general Internal Medicine long-form high-stakes recertification exam with the new AOBIM Osteopathic Continuous Certification (OCC) Longitudinal Assessment Modules. This constitutes a shift by the AOBIM in recertification away from high-stakes testing in a testing center to a low-stakes assessment and continuous learning experience available online. These OCC modules are the sole pathway for AOBIM recertification for Internal Medicine. You can read more on the AOBIM website here.

Due to this change, the ACOI Osteopathic Continuous Certification Education Center for Internal Medicine (OCC-ECIM) modules are no longer available for Internal Medicine CME as of January 1, 2021.

We understand that you have purchased modules and may not have the opportunity to use them before this switch. Therefore, ACOI is offering you a commensurate credit to our Online Learning Center for any modules in your account that have not been completed. This credit will be automatically applied to your account the first week of January 2021. This credit can be redeemed for any of the CME opportunities available on our site and will automatically be applied at check out. We currently offer AOA Category 1A, 1B and AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. If you do not have an account with the ACOI Online Learning Center, please click here to register. Registration is free!

We look forward to supporting your future educational needs and are available should you have any questions.
